In the airline industry is a phrase repeated as a joke, but that makes it clear why it is a sector at the crossroads of many interests: "If you want to enter the aviation business, you must first be a billionaire", they say .

A CEO, states that employers must not only have a good amount of money to invest, but should be aware that in this glamorous-but turbulento- business, not falling, slipping.

Sobran examples in Mexican commercial aviation. The most notable-and also involves alleged fraud and bad manejos- is to Mexicana Airlines, the flag carrier of Mexico who fell from grace in the hands of who was one of the most prominent tourist entrepreneurs in the country: Gaston Azcarraga, now exiled in United States. Mexicana were also involved Angel Losada, Juan Gallardo, Ricardo Amtmann and Laura Diez Barroso.

However, there are more cases in which Mexican billionaire tried their luck in the airline business and eventually get out. IUSA owner, Carlos Peralta, founded Airlines Mesoamerican and succumbed. Alejandro Burillo, Pegasus Group, and Fernando Chico Pardo, Asur and Promecap, also failed in his attempt to bring the business model of the Brazilian goal to Mexico; while Jorge Antonio Nehme, another case of alleged fraud and bad manejos- came down with Avolar. The list goes on with other companies like Aviacsa, Nova Air and Aladia.

Those who survived are the companies that now dominate the Mexican sky: Aeromexico, Volaris, Interjet and Vivaerobús. The four have behind them a solid group of investors who have had to overcome competition in the domestic and international market, high prices of jet fuel (which represents over 30 percent of its operating expenses) and low seasons as the ensuing economic crisis of 2009.

However, this 2015 Mexican airlines (and their investors) finally saw better times following the fall of oil prices and the growth of passenger traffic. According to the latest data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, from January to October 2015 497 000 583 30 million passengers, an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period last year, which were transported with growths they were achieved Similar to 2007, one of the best periods for airlines.

Aeromexico Connect with its subsidiary, concentrated 34 percent of the market; Interjet remained with 24.7 percent of the passengers; Another Volaris and VivaAerobus 24.5 percent to 11.7 percent.

For Andres Conesa, the CEO of Aeromexico, was an almost year round: the price of its securities builds up 92 percent the Mexican Stock Exchange; their income and flow grew 9.7 and 50.8 percent respectively at the end of October and passenger traffic reported a 9 percent increase in November.

In addition, this doctor in economics from MIT, who heads Aeromexico since 2005, when still belonged to the state controller Cintra, was appointed last June Chairman of the International Air Transport Association (IATA, for its acronym in English ) and he became the first Mexican to hold this position.

Part of what has Aeromexico shares in the sky (39.2 pesos to close Tuesday) is the intention of its partner Delta Airlines will keep 49 percent of the Mexican airline, currently controlled by Eduardo Tricio Haro, who has a 20.26 percent of the titles, and Banamex, with 16.28 percent. The operation, which means a premium of 52 percent, is not frowned upon by investors or by the airline's management, starting Conesa.

Delta now has a 4.1 percent stake in Aeromexico, with an option to purchase a further 8.1 percent. In addition, the pension fund of the US airline holds 4.6 percent of the shares of the Mexican company.

The ideal scenario for Conesa, which could put the finishing touches on its implementation as CEO and as a lobbyist this 2015, would that be allowed to Aeromexico and Delta make an alliance to prevent them impacting the bilateral open skies agreement that expected to be endorsed by Congress in 2016.

Postscript

In this context, Interjet, the German family, Volaris, led by Pedro Aspe, and VivaAerobus, the businessman Roberto Alcantara and Ireland's Ryanair, play their cards to strengthen their position and avoid another potential crisis take down their aspirations.

We often see the streets incongruent ads, some others with a message "hyper creative" to reach the target, and least known is the same, and they end up not understanding, or "creativity" is finished lost. Here Ironically Marketing and "task" begins.

Today I will discuss a specific case, which I called a lot of attention a paint company, which has a slogan of "Paint Your Life Well" and make a "refresh" brand to "highlight" in the market and it does is sink into the landscape. The company from which I speak is "Paintings Prisa a" Ochoa brand with a rather interesting western reaches, but year after year looking like leap and position with the end consumer and nothing happens. Marketing managers more than others, walk to the "magic formula" that will lift anonymity brand, but seems to want to make a marketing anti poorly applied, instead of adding, subtracting ends. To do what I call "ironic Marketing".
The main attribute of a trademark is to be remembered in the consumer, that is familiar and thanks to this approach to the final consumer, looks like a familiar brand, get to have confidence and always remember that a need for this product has. In the case of "Paintings Prisa" today, after several logos on the market and competition from multinational as is "Comex" (now merging with Sherwin) who has in mind as being the winner and no more, who joins the global trend of minimalism brands and strengthening its image and communication simple, straightforward, empathetic, friendly with the consumer; "Paintings Shirts" is a "refresh" and returns with a dark picture of angular and aggressive typography, with lines quite parsimonious, rigid design, motionless, inflexible and even an industrial point ... against a "Comex" with gentle, intelligent, harmonious, dynamic and adds spacious, clean, its outlets spaces lines. Who will be the mark by Ironically Marketing ?.
In the market for decorative paints, color is the main player it is necessary to have you always present in the communication strategy. Ironically even in Marketing.
Another interesting point is, this case Marketing Ironically, the change of logo. The "refresh" brand should be subtle, or in such case, radicals, but in favor of the brand and not deteriorating it. The change has made "Paintings Prisa" is back, more vivid color have gone to a brown blue, dark, tough typography have been a prickly, angular, pointed, with a logo colors with a dynamic tilt, have retreated to a single color, strong, and leaving at the end a couple of colors that were in the previous logo.

Change logo this way consumer is to Marketing Ironically, because if the ultimate goal of advertising is to have a positioning and brand awareness, how to make such a radical makeover ?, is starting from scratch, or worse! It is also to introduce yourself to those who do not know, it is to explain with pears and apples, because now you look different, Buuut, are the same. (Cuckoo, cuckoo).

When you're a growing brand in a straight line, because you do not find how to grow upline is important to move many things in marketing, before generating this kind of confusion, and I say, of how expensive it will be the effort money and marketing team work. If we do Marketing Ironically, this is the perfect formula.

With this kind of unplanned, poorly executed changes, you have a dissociative and confusing communication with the consumer and even more! Have a tremendous confusion in your communications, you do your advertising with the new logo, but your point of sale is still not properly identified, and further! They communicate on your website.
Marketing ironic is this combination of actions. Shoulder, doing a makeover when you're not a high-rotation, as a consumer product, have in the cellar, and point of sale material, old image that no one will be, no one will want to buy, they generate mistrust and dissociation in communication. Ironically marketing everywhere.

Mexico is still very early corporate brand licensing stages, so there is a great niche opportunity to empower.
Imagine for a moment that you are a big fan of football and your sport euphoria at 100% because the season has just begun. So, come Sunday, you decide to get ready to enjoy a day full of emotions and early You go to the supermarket.

Here you buy everything you need for fun: From cereal to start the day to all kinds of snacks and drinks to pass the time pleasantly. And right here is where the magic happens, just when choosing your favorite chips, other snacks mark appears in front of you with a package rather than flashy.

And it is that your favorite NFL player appears on him, inviting not only to buy the product that promotes, but feel more than ever part of your team. Thus, the new favorite potatoes leave the shelf to get home and change your routine.
It is precisely in this way that impacts marks the licensing industry, a growing business that recorded an average growth of 5% annually and that generates sales of up to 1.8 billion dollars, according to information from the Mexican Association Promotion and Licensing Brands (PROMARCA).
Real stimulus
Minions from Avengers to Disney characters or, in the business of entertainment, even soccer teams, basketball and American, along with most of the top players in each sport, are only a small part of the wide range of licenses that are today available in Mexico.

Why brands to ally with them? Simply because they can become the company that hook is need to broaden their horizons and improve not only the positioning of the products but also sales.

So says Dalia Benbassat, VP Corporate Relations & Acquisitions in Tycoon Enterprises will hold that up to 34% of sales made in self-service stores are products that are supported by a license.

"Mexico has become an area of great relevance to the use of licenses, because they represent the link that allows brands to finally join the audience who are looking to win."
"The licenses have the strength to be able to communicate values and messages that the public fails to recognize easily, besides offering an important feel belonging to a group or movement."
Opportunity served
Although the results of the use of licenses for companies are solid, according to PROMARCA, currently only 2% of all products we buy are supported by a license, hence the field norme opportunity that exists.

"We're still very early stages of corporate brand licensing, certainly companies that now rise to this boat will further leverage the benefits that can be exploited."
But what is the procedure to follow to select the license can best quedarle our brand ?.
1. Philosophy
It is first to observe what values sends the license interests me and assess whether each is consistent with the structural axes that have my mark are, are they transferable to my product? It is important that there is an agreement between the two so that communication is established is much more robust and efficient for the company to consumers who are looking to attract.
2. Segment and gender
Later have to analyze whether the license concerns us is the ability to connect with the group of people you want to win. It is essential that the license relates to them solidly within their gender and age group, this in order that the message that seeks to communicate to people is much easier to digest as the purchase is made.
3. Timeliness
The task at this point is to determine whether the license has the ability to jump on the time it is intended that the campaign run, for example, the case of snack we imagine at first with the image of NFL player is inserted well as the licensed product on the market just started at the same time the football season started.
4. Creative Resources
Fourthly we have to realize an analysis of what kind of creative activities is possible with the support of the license, that is, how we can adapt, for example, to packaging and how he can get the most juice possible. It is very important that the connection between brand and license can be uniformly without an element finished eating the other.
5. Support structure
Finally we close with the evaluation of the support structure that is marked to promote the use of the license to be obtained. The idea here is to be determined by what these extra elements which can be given to tell the union that exists between them are, can support the fact with some advertising campaign? Is it possible to add a collectible for the consumer? The more interest can be generated in people the results will be better.
