The aim of the billionaire founder and CEO of Under Armour, Kevin Plank, is nothing less than getting your company to become a leader in selling clothing and sports equipment in the United States.
The US company apparel and accessories expected this year a new successful closure, after the $ 3.91 billion (€ 3.5 billion) estimated in 2015 income (an increase of 27% over 2014) and $ 408 million (€ 365 million) profit, according to Motley Fool.
But what has helped propel Plank and overcome any obstacle was an experience he lived when he was at the lowest level of his life, with only a prototype of your product and not a penny to his name.
Planks launched the iconic shirt athletic synthetic fiber in 1996 thanks to $ 16,000 (14,325 euros) that had accumulated savings of a lifetime and after he and his friend Kip Fulks, now OCM Under Armour, find some collegiate customers and they are associated with a manufacturer of textiles to start the business.
Soon, Planks realized he only had $ 3,500 (3,135 euros) to his name, and bills that reached $ 6,000 (5,370 euros) and should be paid. And what seemed a good idea at the time ended up being a fatal decision: He took all the money from your bank account and went to Atlantic City in New Jersey to play it all. He lost every penny.
On the way to his home in Maryland from Atlantic City, Plank stopped at the toll Delaware Memorial Brigde to ask the operator to let him go without paying. "It was the worst moment of my life, having to tell the operator that did not have two dollars if you want to pay," he confessed in the book "The Power of Broke (The Power of ruin)," Daymond John.
One day after the failed trip, Plank went to her mother's house for dinner with her and said that business was fine, but I was thinking that perhaps he had made the biggest mistake of his life.
After lunch, he went to the post office to check his locker he was using to Under Armour and inside was a check for $ 5,700 (5,102 euros) from the Georgia Institute of Technology. The sporting director owed a payment for some time, but did not expect such Plank enough money to pay debts.
About that time, Plank said in an interview published in the magazine Men's Journal in 2013: "That was the last time I doubted my company" and said to himself, "dry your tears, stand up, be a man, put running your business and find ways to achieve success. "
That experience taught Plank a fundamental and very useful for new entrepreneurs lesson: "Do not blame situations that escape from your hand from your failures."
Now, he always keeps an optimistic view and transmits the global team of Under Armour: "Wherever you go, you will hear many people talking about how the world is falling apart. Everyone is an expert, but Under Armour want people to know that control what you can control and let the negative to other people. "

Stefan Persson: Jefe De “H&M” Y El Hombre Más Rico De Suecia

Patrick Drahi is a telecommunications tycoon, who owns a dozen firms around the world. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, on 20 August 1963. He spent the first 15 years of his life in that city and then moved with his family to southern France in Montpellier.
Always they liked mathematics so he decided to study engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. It is one of the great academic institutions through the decades has prepared business and political leaders. He graduated in 1986. Then undertook graduate studies at the National School of Telecommunications in Paris, where he received a degree in optics and electronics.
Once completed studies his first job was as head of international marketing at Philips Group, a company active cables and satellite based in the Netherlands. His dream was to become CEO of an international company, but he understood that this could take you 30 years. So he resigned from that job in 1993.
He managed to make some money with the system known as LBO, which involves the acquisition of a company backed by foreign capital.
In an interview he said his business approach was inspired by John Malone, an American businessman who made a fortune in the 1970s by buying assets. Malone then would buy the company in 1999. UPC would follow the same techniques Malone to take over the market for cables, first in France and then in the rest of the world.
Together with his friend Pascal Orhan started his own company called CMA, a consulting firm specializing in telecommunications and media. He founded two cable companies in France: Sud Cable Services and Mediareseaux in 1994.
Five years later Mediareseaux was sold to the Dutch company UPC for an undisclosed sum. After also he sold the other company. In 2002 he founded Altice in Luxembourg and elsewhere in the world.
Altice is an investment vehicle for cable and telecommunications assets, and through that firm Drahi acquired stakes in other companies.
Optical fiber operator Completel joined the group in 2007 and the investment fund Altice IV invested in Ma Chaine Sport, Vivolta, ShortsTV and Newslux. All the same year.
Drahi already had control of several brands and it was time to leave Europe. In 2009 through Hot Telecommunication System, the company bought Cabovisao Cable Portugal in 2012 and Oni Telecom in 2013. It also acquired a company in the Dominican Republic. There overseas subsidiaries in the Antilles and French Guiana through Numericable-Outremer.
The group debuted on the stock market in Amsterdam on 31 January 2014. Patrick said that this participation would allow the company to develop its ambitious strategy, trying to overcome the enormous wealth of the entrepreneur Xavier Niel, something to accomplish.
Three months after the raid Altice on the Amsterdam stock exchange, the group Vivendi announced that SFR to sell Altice by € 13.5 billion ($ 15.3 billion), giving the second French telecom operator with international ramifications in Reunion and Mayotte. But then they came drawbacks, other candidates buyers appeared, and had to give up Altice Reunion and Mayotte.
Purchases continued in December 2014 when Portugal Telecom Altice acquired for $ 7.4 billion (€ 6.4 billion).
Patrick is married to a Syrian woman and has four children. He keeps his private life so far from the spotlight as possible. Be a citizen of France and Israel. While in Tel Aviv you prefer biking instead of driving. The first time her image appeared in a newspaper was in May 2009.
He controls 58% of Altice through the signing Next Limited Partnership based in Bailiwick of Guernsey. In January 2014 sold 19.6 million shares at the public offering, earning about $ 750 million (€ 657 million).
2014 was important for Altice, because he managed to take over SFR agreement on a $ 23 billion (€ 20.1 million). That same year he took over Virgin Mobile France for € 325 million ($ 285 million).
Today Forbes estimated him a fortune of $ 7.3 billion (€ 6.3 MM) located ranked 10th among the richest men in France.

Germán Larrea hates to lose. Therefore, when a Panamanian pure blood snatched the victory to his multi-award winning horse 'Huitlacoche', in the final stretch of Caribbean Classic last December, the Mexican billionaire bristled. His head coach, Fausto Gutierrez, angrily demanded what appeared to be an obstruction that prevented Huitlacoche take the trophy and $ 400,000 for the block San Jorge, which he inherited from his father Jorge Larrea.
Anger Mexican businessman, explained the journalist, Ruben Beams, was because "clearly was a robbery," and that German Larrea is not used to losing. At the Hippodrome of the Americas, he called the king of copper also 'imposes its law'. San Jorge your block has an effectiveness rate of 93 percent. Last year, their thoroughbreds competed in 656 races, almost double its closest competitor, and won 613; 194 first.
This year luck is still on their side. Between January and February 2016 its thoroughbred exotic names -Point Determined, Impervious and Free Thinking- obtained first, second or third in 72 of 77 races at the Hipodromo de las Americas, which have pocketed just over 800 thousand pesos.
For business tycoon mining Grupo Mexico and Southern Copper, the Cinemex chain and Ferromex and Ferrosur railroad, whom Bloomberg will calculate a fortune of 9 000 100 million, Thoroughbreds do not look at their businesses, they are rather an inherited hobby. However, this hobbie, which has led him to invest several million in buying and breeding thoroughbreds, has also resulted in a monopoly on horse racing in Mexico, to the extent that has caused the departure of several of its competitors, according a source of equestrian venue.
Ruben Beams, author of the Hippodrome column in the newspaper This corroborates that Germán Larrea-the Mexican businessman was more enigmatically frequent visitor to the Hipodromo de las Americas, which in 1943 built the best friend of his father, Bruno Pagliai, a prominent Italian-American entrepreneur. However, after the President of the Republic made public a picture of him, which greets Enrique Peña Nieto, in September 2014, visits billionaire almost became extinct.
Since taking control of Grupo Mexico, in 1994, Germán Larrea had managed to retain an exaggerated low profile, to the extent that those who sought to put a face to the man behind the third largest producer of the world's largest copper producer and the biggest mining tragedy: Pasta de Conchos had to resort to the same photo, blurred, black and white, which even its authenticity is in doubt.
But everything changed on September 18, 2014, when the page of President of the Republic is posted, among other images, the photo of Larrea with President Enrique Peña Nieto, taken during an event of Grupo Financiero Banamex.
In those days, Larrea was dealing with the spill of 40 thousand cubic meters of acid copper its Buenavista mine in the course of two rivers of Sonora sulfate, for which Grupo Mexico paid the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection 23.6 million peso fine, and the creation of trust 2 billion pesos to remedy the damage.
Also in those days, Germán Larrea renounced the Board of Directors of Grupo Televisa, as one of his companies (Cinemex) asked to participate in the bidding for the new broadcast networks, which eventually did not submit an offer. Then he sought to partner with Radio Centro, which submitted a bid and failed to meet the payment of the consideration, but in the final negotiations fell.
Germán Larrea not just hates to lose at the Hippodrome, it has also done the impossible by winning battles against Pacific Airport Group (GAP) after an attempted hostile takeover; It has been faced with an English background to decide a lawsuit stock in Southern Copper mining, and even a real estate broker to pay less money for a duplex in Chicago.

On one occasion he was attacked by a mugger who stole it and hit the outside of the company.
His marriage collapsed. At Christmas 2011 her husband Michael abandoned. Two days later they announced their separation.
"Work harder not made me feel more loved," Michelle recalls in his book.
In 2012 he told the Sunday Times: "I did not want to be a housewife and depend on my husband. I wanted to do things on my own. "
He recalled that his dramatic weight loss affected his marriage.
Rumors circulated that Michael had a relationship with the chief designer of Ultimo, Samantha Bunn.
"After discovering the infidelity of my husband through text messages, he took a knife and smashed the car of Michael," he wrote in the book.
"I can still hear my husband's voice saying, you'll end up in the slum where I rescued," says Michelle. "But inside of me I thought: No, that will not happen. It is true that I grew up in a poor neighborhood, but people were incredible. "
The divorce cost him $ 34 million (€ 30.4 million) to buy half of Ultimo that belonged to Michael.
In December 2013 the company MJM International Mone ceased operations after registering significant liabilities. The brand MAS Holdings based Sri Lanka took a majority stake in MJM.
Michelle in November 2014 sold 80% of its shares to MAS Holdings. Now she just sits at the conference table a few times a month to talk with other shareholders.
It is a fan of the exercises: "Caring for your body really has a big impact on your life. Actually I can not believe I lost 10 years of my life eating and drinking junk, with gross overweight ".
She runs five to eight kilometers each day.
He now has his own business Utan Tanning & Beauty.
It even has its own line of jewelry. On one occasion he sold his jewelry collection through a TV in 1 minute 32 seconds.
Now he dedicated to travel the world and to spend time with his three children. Here in the photo he is with Bethany and two friends.
Despite having so much money has no intention of retiring. "I will retire when five meters underground is".

When Jean Paul Getty died in 1976 he had a fortune of $ 2 billion (€ 1.8 million). That, adjusted for inflation, today would be $ 8.3 billion (€ 7.5 million). That enormous wealth made him the richest man in the world at the time, a title that preserved for three decades.
Jean Paul Getty and Getty Oil Company signed were for much of the 20th century symbols of power and wealth worldwide. Today it is most famous for museums and art collections that bear his name.
The history of oil tycoon is fraught with controversy and tragedy. He became famous kidnapping of his grandson, since Mr. Getty refused to pay the ransom. Others said he had 14 grandchildren and that if they gave money to the kidnappers abducting would follow the rest of his family. So many called him a heartless and insensitive.
Oil in the veins
Jean Paul Getty was born on December 15, 1892 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His father, George Franklin Getty, was always involved in the oil world. Jean Paul studied at the University of California and in the school holidays was to the oil fields with his father.
Jean Paul was always very ambitious and would soon create his own oil company in Tulsa for 24 years and had made his first million dollars.
Nancy Taylor oil well No. 1 Oil Well Site in Oklahoma was crucial to the financial success of the young Getty, so this was the first well drilled as an independent.
He made a fortune and started having a disordered life, parties and women. So his father to die predicted that his youngest son, namely Jean Paul would destroy the family business. But it would be wrong and very heavy.
When his father died in 1930, JPG received an inheritance of $ 500,000 ($ 7.1 million / € 6.4 billion today). He immediately became chairman of Getty Oil Company, a firm that began to restructure and amass.
When the United States entered World War II in 1941, Getty sent a message to an old friend who had a senior position in the Navy. This was the message:
"I'm 49 but I'm in good health. I have owned three yachts and have experience in the care and maintenance of ships. If the Navy can use me in any role, just let me know. "
The Navy did not need Getty as a sailor, then not summoned, but the institution and the entrepreneur always maintained excellent relationships.
Getty transformed the Middle East
Today when we talk about oil wells think in Middle East countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. But now we go back in time, to the 30s and 40s, when oil still had not been found in large numbers outside the United States.
In 1949 Getty made an investment the world cataloged as crazy. Getty took $ 9.5 million (about $ 100 million / € 90.7 million today) and bought an exclusive lease for 60 years for oil in the arid terrain of the Middle East, in a country that by then was unknown to most people: Saudi Arabia.
Before Getty reached the Middle East, Saudi Arabia was a small kingdom desolate, without any natural resources. There was no water.
He never had found oil in the Middle East and not found in the first four years of his adventure. Getty then disbursed $ 30 million ($ 300 million / € 272 million today) to seek more black gold.
In 1953 the gamble paid off in a big way. From that point on their small piece of land worthless would produce 16 million barrels of oil each year, which would transform the Middle East forever. Thus Getty quickly became a multimillionaire.
Saudi Arabia is currently in second place, behind Venezuela, among the countries with the largest oil reserves in the world. And in the top 10 nations with oil, six are countries in the Middle East.
JPG 1967 merged its three companies in a single call Getty Oil Company, which would be president throughout his life. Besides being a magante oil, also it became a successful investor in real estate, with properties such as the Hotel Pierre in New York City.
On the personal side, Getty was married and divorced four times. In total he had five children.
It was in 1957 when Fortune magazine suggested that Jean Paul Getty was the richest man in the world.
His fame and popularity increased. But apparently bothered media attention Getty, who moved to England.
Getty was also a great art collector, who wrote two books about it. The value of his art collection exceeded $ 4 million (€ 3.6 million), and owned works by Tintoretto, Titian, Gainsborough, Romney, Rubens, Renoir, Degas and Monet. Getty collection contained more than 660 items. This hobby began in the 30's.
He acquired a 60-acre mansion in Malibu, California, and added a new wing to the property for his art collection. Over the years some of his pieces went to the Museum of Los Angeles County, including painting "Martin Looter" Rembrandt.
Getty once said that a month received 3,000 letters from strangers who demanded money. In an article titled "It's hard to be a billionaire," published in a magazine, Getty said:
"I Never give money to people. It is unrewarding and wrong ".
If he were alive today Getty certainly would not be part of the initiative of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett called Giving Pledge, which invites billionaires to donate 50% of his fortune to charity. In an article published in 1965 in the "Saturday Evening Post" entitled "The World is wrong with Millonarios," Getty said:
"If I were fully convinced that by donating my fortune solve global poverty, 99.5% would give all my wealth immediately. Charitable foundations tend to only people who give away money. "
It was also his reputation for legendary cheapskate. It was said that he washed his socks to avoid paying someone else or not having to buy more socks than necessary.
The world learned that Getty was hard to loose money when they kidnapped his grandson, Jean Paul Getty III, in Italy. Then the magnate refused to pay the ransom of $ 16 million (€ 14.5 million).
When he was inquired about had amassed such an enormous fortune, Getty gave much importance to chance.
"I was born at the right time. If I had been born earlier or later I would have missed the huge profits generated by the First World War in this business (oil) ".
Jean Paul Getty died of heart failure on June 6, 1976 at the age of 83, at his mansion in England. In his will he bequeathed Getty $ 1.2 billion (€ 1.08 MM) to its foundation, the Getty Foundation, focused on art.
"I'm a bad boss. A good leader develops successors. But the truth is that nobody can wear my shoes, "he said in his later years.
Getty, a surname marked by tragedy
The Getty family is still very powerful. Forbes magazine estimated her fortune of $ 5.4 billion (€ 4.8 MM), positioned in 56th among the richest families in America. However, the money has not prevented the name is struck by tragedy.
The last fateful incident occurred in April 2015 when Andrew Getty, grandson of J. Paul Getty, was found dead at his home in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Authorities said Andrew's body was found naked from the waist down in a pool of blood. They say it was due to "natural causes or an accident."
Gordon P. Getty, the fourth son of JPG and father of Andrew, publicly acknowledged in 1999 that had a double life, something that was already known in the high society of San Francisco. He had a relationship with a woman named Cynthia Beck for 10 years, with whom he had three daughters.
On the other hand, it has always been said that the tycoon said a distant relationship with his children, who did not want to leave his fortune relationship. Although his heirs were lucky that Sarah, the mother of J. Paul Getty, create a trust fund for the grandchildren. The fund, according to Forbes magazine, was worth $ 4 billion (€ 3.6 billion) in the 80 '.
Another misfortune was the kidnapping of the grandson, whom they cut off his ear and sent it to J.P. Getty. Finally the family paid a ransom of $ 2.8 million (€ 2.5 million). After being released, J. Paul Getty III became addicted to alcohol and drugs, until a heart attack left him quadriplegic and nearly blind.
One of the sons of JP Getty died in 1973, apparently by suicide. While Talitha Pol, his daughter, died of a heroin overdose.
The life of Jean Paul Getty leaves little human sensitivity lessons, but many in the business plan. He was a visionary who saw what others could not. He risked and its success was huge. Middle East countries owe their booming economy this American, who knew what Bill Gates today feels to be considered the richest man on the planet.

Amancio Ortega: El Misterioso Magnate Español Dueño De Zara Que Amenaza El Trono De Bill Gates
